FAQ: Atlanta Lung Cancer Awareness Run & Walk

The Atlanta Lung Cancer Run & Walk is coming up on Saturday, November 8! It's not too late to join! You can register the day of the race! Come by the Registration Tent and remember to join team "Jogging for Joan"! Below are some frequently asked questions and answers you may find useful. What time is the Lung Walk? 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – Check In and Onsite Registration 8:00 a.m. – 5k (3.2 Mile) Run begins 8:30 a.m. – 1 Mile Walk begins 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Lung Walk Festivities begin 10:00 a.m. winners of race and fund raising will be announced Can I bring my family? Yes, the walk is a fun event for the whole family and strollers are allowed on the walk route. Can I bring my pet? Please leave your four-legged friends at home. Our venue is not able to accommodate animals on the route. Thank you for understanding. What if the weather is bad? The event will be held regardless of weather conditions. If it is raining, please bring your umbrella and other rain gear. If it is very cold, please dress warmly. Can I walk/run the course instead of walking/running? Yes, you may run or walk the course. Awards will be given for different age brackets with best time. Will food be provided? Yes. Bananas, water and other refreshments will be provided by Kroger. What restroom facilities will be available? Walkers will have access to portable restrooms around the expo area of the walk. Where do I register the day of the race? There will be a Registration Tent and T-shirt Tent in the expo area for you to sign up or check in if you have already registered for the race. There you will pick up your race number and purchase any additional shirts for $20. How do I get a Lung Walk t-shirt? Each participant that has paid the $20 race fee (accepting donations only for children under 5 years) will get a race t-shirt. Additional shirts can be purchased for $20 at the Registration Tent. Once you have checked in, you will need to show your race number to the volunteers at the T-shirt Tent and you will get a t-shirt. If you buy additional shirts, you will receive a voucher to turn into the T-shirt Tent. If I am walking as a tribute to someone, where do I get a Memorial Sign? Memorial Signs will be available at the Memorial Sign Table near the Registration and T-Shirt Tents. Is parking FREE? Parking is FREE! All participants can follow signs for the free parking deck on Concourse’s Campus. I registered online, but my credit card has not been charged. Why not? If you registered online with a credit card, it will not be charged until after the event. How do I get to the Lung Walk? From I-285 West Bound: Take exit # 28- Peachtree Dunwoody Road. Turn Right at the traffic light. Turn left onto Concourse Parkway, NE. From I-285 East Bound: Take exit 26 for Glenridge Dr and drive toward Glenridge Connector. Turn Left at Glenridge Dr, NE.
